I still have the apples. I would be happy to share, and I wonder where I could get a cider press.

Such a marvelous event! And the weather held!

By the way, I told Claudia that last I heard there would be two, maybe three cider presses, but I guess that has changed again! I'm sorry Claudia was discouraged to even bring a small amount of apples to press, just for the sake of enjoying the event.

Yes, if it rains, although John has said he thinks it WILL rain and is told us that the cider press WILL be put in the place it was last year.... I personally would like it to stay in the parking lot for the visibility of 'passer-bys', and not have everyone park in front of it by the church building and block the activity.... 'my honest opinion, (but I wasn't asked).

If it rains the faire will move into the church basement and under the patio cover. I wanted to mention there will be a bike maintenance and tool sharpening spot at the faire to trade with this year.

Claudia,
No... the press is an old fashioned hand crank apple press...
...that is fun for a few folks to make a few dozen gallons of cider..
taking turns cranking and mostly talking/visiting while waiting to help..

We're not in a hurry...
...this is not an industrial event..

I have tons of apples! I haven't picked them yet. The tree is huge! If anyone wants to help or have apples, I have many. Also, I was wondering how hardy a press this is. I have rented them in the past and it is a slow process. Is this an industrial press (I am hoping) I will bring apples. And good buckets.

Wish I could be in two places at once and come to this, but I will be helping with another solar oven workshop with Tom at the Ballard Festival from 1-4.

and some folks are buying 2nds from Tonnemakers at the Meadowbrook Farmers Market to make their own juice to bring home.. If so, once again, you'd need to bring your own containers to put your juice in..

Definely! Last year was mostly food, but we are emphasizing all home-made goodies, such as you mention. Apples will be there for all, but depending on the number of people, there may be enough to go around, ESPECIALLY IF THEY BRING THEIR OWN CONTAINERS TO PUT THE JUICE IN to take home!
