We will be gathering at George: Center for Community [2212 NE 125th Street; 98125] the morning of. The location is a few blocks west of Lake City Way on 125th near the other build properties.

Folks that aren't up to lifting and moving heavy things can build the boxes with hammer and nails, move cardboard in place and help plant. We will be planting a combination of transplants and seeds at the gardeners request. We will have gone over a bit of garden planning with our new gardeners and if they do want help planting (they usually do), it’s a fun activity for all involved.

And yes! We are accepting applications at justgarden.org/gardens

Shannon, we do have a Ravenna location that you can help at. Would you mind emailing me at justgarden@seattletilth.org and I can send you the info?

Hi Carolyn,  Good question- let me get back to you!    Susan

How much strength is required?  Are there tasks for someone who cannot carry or lift heavy things?

Comment by Susan Gregory on March 4, 2014 at 9:24pm

I don't think so- building only.

Sounds like fun - will we be planting as well?

Comment by Shannon Markley on March 4, 2014 at 4:48pm

I can help from noon - 3p.m., preferably at a Ravenna location.

Thanks, Susan.

Hi Carey- I would reach out to Josh at the e-mail above and see if he has the capacity to add projects to this day. If not he may have some ideas-     Susan

What if you are a garden that needs help?  I belong to the Jackson Park P-Patch and our accessible beds are crumbling from rot...
