It is time once again for our SOLAR COOKOUT. We will gather in the lot across the street from Wedgwood Presbyterian with our various alternative energy cooking devices; homemade solar cookers, manufactured solar ovens, rocket stoves, bio-char stoves, etc., and cook various dishes then have a meal together from what we have prepared. Since the best solar cooking starts earlier in the day, starting at noon, there will be someone in the lot stove-sitting to watch over any cookers that get dropped off there with the food in them and ready to go. In addition to good food there will also be local music and good conversation among neighbors. Bring the whole family and anyone you have been trying to get to one of our gatherings. This is a great time and very educational. If you have not built a solar cooker and would like to before this event, we will be offering a workshop the week before so you can build one and try it out then join in with the cooking. Stay tuned to this site for more details about the workshop. They are easy to make. Check out http://sustainableneseattle.ning.com/video/solar-potluck to see last year's event. You are welcome to come even without a cooker, just bring a dish to share.
