Event Description

Dinner is at your feet!

Many of us already appreciate the ability of the land around us, even in an urban setting, to grow food by way of our gardens. How many of us, though, know how to take advantage of the useful plants that are already growing all around us? Come join us as we learn to make use of the bounty the spring season calls forth from the urban soils of NE Seattle! We'll meet up at 11:00am at several locations around NE Seattle (map to come) and walk through our community, learning about what is edible and useful in our urban natural environment and how to gather it. We'll then meet up at Meadowbrook Community Center at 1:30pm for a discussion on what we found and more about urban foraging, followed by a meal featuring the fruits of our day's efforts. We hope you'll join us for what is sure to be a day of fun, learning, and community!

Hi All,

One of our leaders has had to withdraw at the last minute, but we have two wonderful group leaders on for tomorrow at eleven. Please see the updated map, linked to here.

I hope there's another event like this one this season or there is a way to organize something similar. Have to be out of town this weekend unfortunately.

It looks like E5 is the first parking lot from the NE 65th St entrance, where the wetlands entrance area starts and before you get to the boat launch area.

The Burke Gilman spot is behind the Children's Hospital Medical Center just off 39th Ave NE

Joann -

It isn't completely clear from the map.  Where is Magnuson Parking Lot E5?  Is it off the south entrance?

Also for those starting at Burke Gilman trail, is that about where 38th AVE NE intersects the burke gilman trail?

Just wanting to be sure to go to the right spot!

Thx.
