Event Description

The Transition movement is an action-focused framework for building resilience within a community as a positive response to our unsustainable society reaching its limits. Sustainable NE Seattle is officially recognized by Transition US, which is part of the international Transition Network. What does that mean to us as members of Sustainable NE Seattle?

In this evening's presentation, Leo Brodie will describe the Transition movement starting with its origins in the UK, and describe what distinguishes Transition groups from similar organizations. You will hear how our events - including the Skills Fair, Barter Fair, Edible Garden Tours, and Planet:Home summer festival - relate to Transition principles, and how they add resilience to our community. Don't miss this opportunity to see the "big picture" view of our meaningful, exciting and fun activities and processes.
