I third that (is that an expression?) I enjoyed all aspects of the evening, especially watching my high school age son interact with the attendees and later commenting on what a great group of people with good attitudes despite their present situation. He wants to continue getting to know them.

I second that! I just loved the whole thing- from scurrying around in the kitchen with all of the cooks to sitting down to dinner with people I hadn't met before, and who I would never had met if not for this event.

Just wanted to mention how much fun I had last night at the chili dinner at Maple Leaf Lutheran Church. What a terrific program they have there for homeless people! I met several people who were giving their all to educate themselves, gain a skill, get their life back in order and build a future. Several were interested in what we do and many of them jumped in on the cleanup and offered to help next time. And - the food was delicious, absolutely delicious.

Hi,
I'm having a meeting at my house tomorrow night to begin planning our monthly community feeds at the Maple Leaf Church, like the lasagna dinner. Please come and lend your great idea. My address is 9813 19th Ave NE and phone is 524-5620. We'll meet at 7:00. I'll provide dessert. Lee

I'd be really interested in hosting cooking events as long as they don't include the flesh of anything with a voice. I have a huge kitchen/dining area and back deck.

Hi Folks-

Wow, thanks for all the fun cheesemaking! And now I have all the "cheesy" jokes to go with it!
Lee, I think I left my maroon sweater at your place. I'm not sure if I'll make it to this Thursday's meeting, but hopefully I'll see you at a meeting soon. I live on the same block with Leo, so if you see him first, I bet he'd be willing to pass it on to me too.

Thanks+

I have the book and the stuff to make mozzarella and ricotta. You just need milk that isn't ultra pasteurized. I haven't tried it yet, but I want to! Are any of you free during the day? We could just use my kitchen- less complicated than getting the church. Susan
