Profile Information

What parts of our mission are you interested in (for example, growing food/food security, appropriate energy technologies, transportation, community building, etc.)?
Anything to do with Permaculture. I'm also a renewable energy advocate. Yes, it'd love to pursue distributive forms of electrical energy production in my neck of the woods.

I'm blessed in being able to walk to much of what I need in my neighborhood. I drive a B100 Golf TDI and am starting to like bus transit. It's very convenient for me.
How do you see yourself being involved with Sustainable NE Seattle? What skills, talents and passions are you willing to share?
Creating dialogue with members of my Local Community (Northgate, Wedgewood, Victory Heights, Maple Leaf) who are interested in tell compelling stories about stuff that works. Shoot, "... if it works for us it could probably work for you."

I'd like to see if we could make local businesses truly sustainable in their marketing and sales.

Bill, I can bring a small camping ice cream maker if that helps.   I will be there, but I will be working the Sustainable Seattle table.  We are hosting this event with Green Drinks in cooperation with our other partners, including Sustainable NE :)

I will be drumming up interest in rain gardens.  We have a grant get clusters of rain gardens in neighborhoods that want to also do another project to become a "sustainable neighborhood."  We plan to focus on NE Seattle as one of our areas where SPU is offering their rebates for rain gardens.  Who is the best person at Sustainable NE to talk to about getting the word out on this through you guys?

Hello Bill,

Yes, I would be happy to help out with ice cream at the Green Drinks/Sustainable NE Seattle event. I am happy to serve ice cream or whatever else you need, just let me know.

Would love to attend the Seattle Renewables meeting--got it on my calendar--just need particulars.

In a recent experiment of extreme simplification in my life, I gave up my car, am living in Ravenna (12th and NE 70th) with my daughter and her family, giving her a couple of hours a day help with her 18 month old and 31/2 year old. Otherwise I'm isolating myself to do the work I've been preparing for for over 20 years. It includes all the stuff I've seen through the website and is imperative to be part of an extraordinarily collaborative cadre of folks.

Look forward to connecting up with you and if convenient for you, I'm available by phone much of the time 925-304-2855.

Hi Bill, Glad you joined our group, and look forward to breaking pizza with you on the 15th, if you can make it. Lots more to explore as we work toward the future with less oil, more fun!
