How do you see yourself being involved with Sustainable NE Seattle? What skills, talents and passions are you willing to share?
I am the horticulture teacher at Nathan Hale High School. I work with 150 students per year to investigate the benefits of growing your own food and caring for the environment in general. We grow thousands of organic vegetable starts, perennials, annuals, herbs, and native plants, which we sell during our community plant sales each May. I hope that our program can become more of a community resource center and supplier of high quality (yet affordable) plants. We are moving into a new greenhouse in Fall 2010--it will be located north of Jane Addams K-8. I would like to discuss the possibility of locating a P-Patch garden on this property too.
