What parts of our mission are you interested in (for example, growing food/food security, appropriate energy technologies, transportation, community building, etc.)?
Pretty much all of it--especially growing and preserving food, minimizing energy use, non-car transportation, and, most of all, building community.
How do you see yourself being involved with Sustainable NE Seattle? What skills, talents and passions are you willing to share?
What I really want to do is start a group for families with young kids. It's so hard to get involved with a toddler. And I'm thinking I can't be the only one. So I'd love to start a subgroup called Sustainable Families to see if there's interest from other parents of little ones and what can be done to bring this population together.
I can cook and bake and make yogurt. I have started drying food. I used to can and garden many years ago. I want to learn to do more so my family is not as dependent on the commercial economy and fossil fuels.
Oh, and I used to run a newsletter called the Frugal Environmentalist. Started after we invaded Iraq (the second time). It went defunct after I was hit by car while biking in 2005.

Nothing right now. I'm home with a 17 month old and not active in anything :-(
Sad fact to not being involved, not to being home with my son, who I adore!
How did you hear about us?
Years ago I went to one of your kick-off meeting, then got to busy to keep going.

Hi Lisa...I love the idea of a group for families with young children, We've always felt that we wanted to find ways to make it easier for families to be involved. Now that you are a member- you can create a group on the ning site- and see who might want to join you. Feel free to call with any questions 526-1169 Susan G
