Profile Information

What parts of our mission are you interested in (for example, growing food/food security, appropriate energy technologies, transportation, community building, etc.)?
I am interested in all of the things Sustainable NE Seattle is doing because, naturally, they are all very interrelated. At an anti-tar sands/Occupy Seattle rally a couple of months ago, one person from Sustainable NE Seattle spoke of a solar installation in our part of the city. I am very interested in solar and want to look into some solar power for my home in the Meadowbrook area. I am also very interested in growing food and helping to involve more people in NE Seattle in growing food in their own yards and at community gardens. I am a fair-weather cyclist for transportation and I ride the bus a lot. I own a car but don't plan to own one forever.
How do you see yourself being involved with Sustainable NE Seattle? What skills, talents and passions are you willing to share?
Organic gardening (I could contribute labor and some knowledge).
Public speaking (again, I have a lot to learn but this is something I am interested in and have done a little of).
Writing (I am not a trained journalist or grants writer, alas, but I am a writer with proficiency in writing letters to editors, for example; I contribute book reviews to Real Change newspaper).
List other affiliations/groups that you participate in with similar missions.
Occupy Seattle
Just Garden (I have only just begun to be involved in this non-profit group)
Goat Hill Giving Garden (King County employees garden in downtown Seattle)
Real Change News
Lake City (Meadowbrook)
How did you hear about us?
word of mouth
