It's time to sign up now!

to shift our disposable cup habit as a community.



Here in Seattle, we’ve taken the lead in recycling.  Now we need to push the envelope by shifting to reuse.

 

Recycling is better than landfill but does that mean we get to be wasteful, extruding a veritable torrent of disposable, single-use items, plowing through the resources burned up for the sake of a product used once and then tossed?

collective impact, instantaneous (practically)

What can we do to help the earth that requires no money, new infrastructure or technology, no legislation or political will, not even time (to speak of)?

 

I’ve been wondering, why not kick our disposable cup habit together and make an instantaneous, collective shift?  Take three weeks.  So I’ve put together a website and joined with some non-profits (Sustainable Seattle, Zero Waste, Green Fest).  Coffeehouses are also onboard, including Caffe Ladro, Grateful Bread, and Cafe…

a local, grass-roots campaign to reduce waste (disposable cups) this April!

Hi all,

I'm looking forward to the meeting on waste this Thursday.  And I want to hook up with you all about a grassroots campaign that is city-wide but maybe it will get really launched here in Northeast Seattle, with your help!  Sustainable Seattle is a partner and so is Grateful Bread.
