Sustainable NE Seattle

Connecting for a sustainable community

Hi NE Sustainable Seattle Folks!

My name is Luke Jesperson and I am rather new resident of the Ravenna neighborhood. I work for City Fruit-a local non-profit dedicated to caring for the fruit trees of the Seattle area as well as diverting potential food waste (check out our website- www.cityfruit.org). As the Harvest Manager, my job focuses on harvesting fruit that grows in residential yards and donating it to food banks. Part of our mission at City Fruit is to improve the health of the fruit tree canopy in our city. One way to do this is thru diligent, attentive pruning. Over the course of the next few months (while the trees are still dormant) with our first event taking place this weekend 1/24 at Meridian Park in Wallingford. Every event will be taught by an expert in fruit tree stewardship. If you have any questions about this event or about City Fruit in general, please feel free to email me at luke@cityfruit.org or go to our website: http://cityfruit.org/get-involved/prune-a-thon-2015/ to sign up!

Hope the New Year is finding you all in good spirits!

Best,

Luke Jesperson
