Connecting for a sustainable community

Earth Day 2010 at St. Edwards State Park

I am the volunteer coordinator for the annual April 17 Earth Day celebration at St. Edwards State Park in Kenmore. I'm currently contacting all potentially interested parties to invite them to participate. The event is very informal, and free to both exhibitors and the public. Indoor events are in the large Grand Dining Hall of the historic seminary building. The park is open for field trips, work parties, demos, etc. Typically 200-500 people visit between 11am -3pm.

We are interested in having a variety of themes represented but are particularly interested in those related to sustainability, energy, and urban horticulture. If this is something you would like more information about please let me know. I hope to see you there!

Hi Susan, I think that would probably work. I'll give you a call when I get a chance to discuss it. Feel free to be in touch as well via email, phone or here...tristan@solsticelnw.com. 206.898.2850

It's not on Earth Day, but on May 8 there will be an event going on around the city to build garden beds, and we're (hopefully) going to be putting in a Community Garden at Ravenna Eckstein that day. Delivery of soil and/or wood chips would be really helpful! Let me know! Susan G. 526-1169

Does anyone know of any Earth Day 2010 volunteer work parties that could use a dump truck to haul stuff? I'm looking to volunteer - and I have one available. Please contact me if so - preferably in the NE Seattle Area.
Thanks,
Tristan Heberlein
