Our names are Jake, Michael, and Stephanie and all of us live in the NE Seattle, and we are excited to meet you. M&S recently moved to Wedgwood, and J lives in the U-District. Coincidently, we are members of Cascadian Edible Landscapes, a food justice-inspired edible landscaping company. To learn more and to connect, see www.eatyouryard.com.
Part of our business is growing edible plant starts for our clients, for members of our "Community Supported Plant Starts Program" (see the May Issue of Organic Gardening Magazine), and for some local markets/fairs. Right now we are undergoing some growth, and would like to ease the growing pains (and carbon footprint) by housing our greenhouse in the neighborhood rather than the country.
The structure is a basic 16x30 metal hoop house with a double layer of poly film. We would need water access, as well as some electrical use, and will pay for all utility use.
The timeline we need is from march 1st-September 15th, and we intend on doing this for at least 5 years. Whenever we are done with it we would
Compensation: Beyond paying for our utilities, we would be able to pay a small "rent" or do work trade (preferable), crafting you a personalized edible landscape. We would also supply you with lots of edible plant starts.
Well, if anyone out there might be interested in this, please contact us soon so we can get this thing built within the next couple of weeks.
