Today marks the beginning of the Red Cross’ “Safe in the Sound” campaign.
Below is a truncated description of the preparedness campaign:
“Safe in the Sound is a three-year regional initiative which aims to better prepare 1,000,000 individuals in Western Washington for emergencies and disasters. We want the public to take tangible steps toward preparedness through making a plan, getting informed and building a kit.
The 10-week multi-media campaign will launch today, Monday, February 4th via Fisher Communications affiliates including KOMO, KUNS and others. The outreach includes TV, radio, print, transit ads and other outreach.
Our goal is to train one million people throughout Western Washington to be better prepared, but more importantly, we want to shift the culture in the region toward preparedness. By getting a kit, making a plan and being informed, we’re encouraging all residents to be ready for any emergency.
Prepare, advocate and engage others in this movement. Tell us, are you Safe in the Sound?”
