Resilient Cities Talk on Monday, Jan 12 at City Hall

This sounds right up our alley, especially those of us who have been reading The Transition Handbook:

On Monday, January 12, 2009, Mayor Nickels and City Green Building invites the public to attend a special lecture by Peter Newman, Professor of Sustainability at Curtin University in Perth Australia. The FREE lecture will explore emerging methods for city development in a post peak oil world.

OK, I got confirmation that it's indeed on:

David - Yes, it's sponsored by City Green Building, though we're not sure if the
Mayor will be able to participate. Glad you're interested, and feel free to spread
the word on this!

As far as I know this is happening, but I can't seem to find any confirmation on the city website. Anyone else know for sure it's on?
